We Just Started Tracking SpaceX Options Flow — Here's Week One

We added SPCX (SpaceX) to the scanner on August 7. Its first full week: 4,581 signals, $665M in premium. Here's what else stood out August 10-14, and what our scanner caught in real time.

TickersSPY

We added SPCX — SpaceX — to the scanner's tracked symbols on August 7. The week that followed was its first full week of coverage: 4,581 signals, $665M in options premium, on a name our tape had never seen before.

That's the kind of thing a weekly recap should actually be for: not "SPY had the most volume again" — SPY always has the most volume — but a name most flow scanners don't cover yet, in its first week on ours. Here's what showed up the week of August 10–14.

SpaceX, Week One

SPCX's largest single print was an $11.96M call buy, 100 days out, on August 12 — five days into coverage. From there it kept building: 4,581 signals in five trading days, all off the live verified feed, no fallback data, no gaps. That's real institutional-size options positioning in SpaceX, not retail noise, and it's now part of what our scanner tracks every day going forward.

We're not calling a direction here — that's not what this is. We're pointing at the fact that from day one of coverage, our scanner caught it building in real time, signal by signal. That's the whole pitch: not "here's what happened," but "here's what would have shown up on your screen while it was happening."

Two More That Stood Out

  • SNDK 1660 Put, $289M block, 158 DTE — the single largest print of the week by a wide margin, more than double anything else on the tape. SNDK itself isn't news — it's run $2-2.8B in weekly premium for six straight weeks — but a $289M position that far out is a real, sized bet, not noise. Still open.
  • SPY 750 Call, $11.49M sweep — 17 fills across 5 exchanges in 92 milliseconds, aggressive selling into same-day expiry. If SNDK's block is what a negotiated, one-shot institutional position looks like, this is the opposite: an order worked hard, fast, across every venue that would take it.

How the Week Actually Felt

$25.68B in total premium crossed the scanner across 98,384 signals this week — the character of it matters more than the total. Tech dominated everything, pulling in $9.36B, more than the next two sectors (ETF-wide flow at $4.99B, Consumer at $2.71B) combined. Buy-side premium led every single day, but the regime under it was genuinely indecisive: RANGING most of the week, a flip to BEAR_TRENDING Wednesday, then BULL_TRENDING by Friday — not a clean trend in either direction. Thursday was the peak, $5.18B in buy-side premium alone, the week's biggest day by a wide margin. And through all of that chop, VIX quietly drifted lower all week — 15.27 Monday to 14.48 Friday — a market getting calmer, not more anxious, even while the regime couldn't make up its mind.

Worth saying plainly, the same way we say it every week: buy-side lean and falling VIX didn't protect the week's biggest already-resolved bets. GLD calls into resistance, short-dated SPY calls that didn't get there in time — every large block that had time to close by Friday closed red. Big premium is a signal worth watching, not a guarantee.

How This Gets Caught in Real Time

SPCX's 4,581 signals this week weren't identified after the fact — every one hit our scanner and was classified QUALIFIED or PASS the moment it printed, against the same 9-filter methodology published at /methodology. That's the actual product: not a recap you read on Monday, but the feed itself, live, during market hours.
